Families of Fall

As I'm wrapping up all my fall sessions, I wanted to take a moment to highlight all my family sessions I had this season.

Growing up, I can only pick out a handful of times where we had our family images taken professionally. We went many years at a time before updating our photographs together. Long story short, I wish that we would have had family sessions more frequently growing up. Life is always changing, and I believe that it's important to celebrate here and now with the ones you love most.

This post features seven different families, and each one is unique!

Barlow Families

I had the opportunity to photograph this family twice this fall. The goal was to get images taken of Kathi's grandchildren with their great-grandparents but sometimes it can be difficult to coordinate everyone's schedules, so we ended up having two different sessions!

Kathi has a pony-riding business and wanted to include some of her ponies into the session. I like incorporating a family's lifestyle into their images.

Mills Family

The Mills have been near and dear to our family for many years! We love having them right down the road from us and it's been a blessing to watch Scott and Kelli's kids, Maddie and Cooper grow up. Good friends are irreplaceable!

Irvine Family

I've known John and Carolyn for a while since we're members of the same church! They told me that in the ten years they've been married, they have never had professional pictures taken. I'm glad I could provide them with images that celebrate their years of marriage!

Favorite quote of the day: "We've only been married for ten years, so we're still kids."
Simply adorable. *melts*

Ellis Family

What a sweet little family! I had a contest back in August for a free session; I wanted to give the gift of photography to a teacher or a student. Nicole teaches kindergarten at USD 436. Luckily, I could meet them out at their place for their session! Nicole and her husband, Jeff, have a ranch and I like being able to photograph families in their natural surroundings.

Nicole had shown me some images that she liked and wanted to capture during the session, so we had the kiddos sit out for a minute to snag just a few with her and her husband by themselves. I decided to add my own spin to the original images she had shared with me, and I'm so in love with the way these images came out!

Miller Family

This is a brand-new family! Darah and Gage Miller welcomed their daughter, Isabella Snow, into their family earlier this month. These are some images from their maternity session back in November. I feel privileged that I've gotten to know this couple, as I've photographed all of their stages of life. I did my first session with Darah and Gage in the ice about three years ago when they were dating, then they asked me to photograph their engagement session, capture their wedding, and now this milestone as well! Congratulations on your new baby girl!

Kuehn Family

Fun fact: I work for Lisa at her marketing consulting business! See what we do here: http://www.dreamonmarketingteam.com/
We had originally planned to do her family session that morning but plans changed, and we pushed it back to later in the afternoon, and I'm SO grateful that it worked out that way, I mean, just look at these colors!! I couldn't have asked for better lighting.

Denny Family

Another sweet group; my family and I just adore the Denny's! They happen to have a beautiful farm that's full of endless backdrop opportunities for images.

In Conclusion:

I'm thankful for all the wonderful families I've gotten to work with this season. At this point, I haven't photographed many families, so it's been a great experience for me to get more of these sessions under my belt.
